|TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON || These films are some absolute favorites of mine, so it really is no surprise that I saw this already on Tuesday night in IMAX 3D. The film was fantastic, despite the piss-poor reviews it is receiving (though they always do). I will be seeing this film again without the 3D and look forward to this film making truckloads of money.||THEATER|
|CRIME AFTER CRIME || A documentary about a woman that was seemingly wrongfully put in jail, the narrators of this film look to be very strongly convicted to getting this resolved and as it was a pick from Sundance, I will probably have to see this one eventually.
|LARRY CROWNE || Seeing Tom Hanks dressed up as a Costco worker as they shot this film was the best, especially the YouTube video where he is playing with a toy version of “Toy Story” character Woody, whom he voices. “Larry Crowne”, from the trailer, looks rather bland, but if anyone can pull it off, it is probably Hanks. Julia Roberts never really sells a film for me, so based on her, it really leaves me questioning whether watching Hanks going to classes where Roberts is teaching will be as “exhilarating” as it sounds…||RENT
|LOVE ETC. || For a “documentary” about five real life relationships, this one actually looks rather good. The oldest couple is the most intriguing to me. It is normally hard to invest in a film about a camera shoved into real people’s relationships and believing that this is actually what the couples would do with the camera’s off, but this one has a genuine touch that the others lack and I look forward to eventually catching it.||STREAM
|MONTE CARLO || Yeeahhh…. No. What looks to be the lost “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” film meets “It Takes Two”, this looks like the dreadful version of both. I am sure many teenage girls will adore this film, but I will not be anywhere near.||PASS
|THE PERFECT HOST || This film looks amazing! Coming from Magnolia, I do not want to ruin any twists that the trailer gives away, so simply watch the trailer and tell me that it does not look unique.||RENT|
|TERRI || “Terri” looks to be one of my favorite types of films: the independent, dark comedy. Starring John C. Reilly, who nailed his role in “Cyrus” of much the same demeanor, “Terri” looks just crazy enough to be good, with Reilly playing the principle and the lead role being a very big and awkward young man. The dialogue from the trailer appears witty and if the entire film contains that, this will be a fantastic film.||THEATER
