Oscars Watch: 2014 Kansas City Film Critics Circle Awards

Splitting the Best Film / Best Director vote like I am beginning to predict, Kansas City gives Best Film to “Birdman” and Best Director to Richard Linklater (“Boyhood”). I also think Michael Keaton may have the best shot to win Best Actor for “Birdman” and Patricia Arquette (“Boyhood”) for Best Supporting Actress. It is also great to see “Obvious Child” getting some screenplay love.

Here is the official list for the Kansas City Film Critics Circle Awards:

BEST FILM: “Birdman”
ROBERT ALTMAN AWARD – BEST DIRECTOR: Richard Linklater (“Boyhood”)
BEST ACTOR: Michael Keaton (“Birdman”)
BEST ACTRESS: Rosamund Pike (“Gone Girl”)
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: Edward Norton (“Birdman”)
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Patricia Arquette (“Boyhood”)
BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY: Gillian Robespierre (“Obvious Child”)
BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY: Armando Bo, Alexander Dinelaris, Nicolás Giacobone and Alejandro González Iñárritu (“Birdman”)
BEST ANIMATED FEATURE: “The LEGO Movie”

VINCE KOEHLER AWARD – BEST SCI-FI/FANTASY/HORROR: “The Babadook”
