POWERS BOOTHE
June 1, 1948 – May 14, 2017 (age 68)
Cause of Death: Pneumonia

What I remember most about the actor Powers Boothe was his voice and that goes without saying when you look at the last leg of his career and saw that he was mainly doing voice-over work for animated series like Justice League, Ben 10, and Scooby Doo and even a voice role in the 1997 Nicolas Cage film, Con Air. The first thing I ever would have seen Powers in would have been the original Red Dawn (1984), alongside Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen, as a downed pilot that informs them of the current state of the war. He would later resurface in films like Sin City and its sequel Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, and as Col. Jim Faith in Will Forte’s MacGruber. It’s also worth noting that he shared the screen a few times with Bill Paxton, who also passed away this year, in Tombstone, Hatfields and McCoys, and they both starred in Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. on the ABC network, although Powers actually appeared in the first Avengers film as well.
