SIR ROGER MOORE
14 October 1927 – 23 May 2017 (age 89)
Cause of Death: Cancer

Moore was knighted in 2003 by Queen Elizabeth II for his work with UNICEF, but he will always be more widely known as having played Secret Agent 007 aka James Bond in seven of the films. That is tied for the most times with Sean Connery (although Never Say Never Again was not an Eon Productions produced film, so it sometimes is set apart from the actual series). Following Connery’s first five films and one by George Lazenby (On Her Majesty’s Secret Service), Moore would begin the longest consecutive stint as the character. He also found success in television, playing lead roles on the series Ivanhoe, Maverick, and The Saint.
