Theatrical Releases: Coco & Darkest Hour

COCO || November 24th, 2017

COCO || Pixar delivers yet another heartfelt animated film that transcends children’s fare and becomes a sentimental piece for everyone with “Coco,” the story of a boy who defies his family’s ban on music and in doing so is sent to the land of the dead during the celebration of Día de Muertos, where he meets the members of his family that have passed on, specifically looking for his musician great-great grandfather.
DARKEST HOUR || Just give Gary Oldman the Academy Award now because I find it hard to believe that anyone will top his performance as Winston Churchill in “Darkest Hour,” what is being touted as a great companion piece to this year’s “Dunkirk,” which is centered around the same period of time but portrayed in a much different way, with words and performance.
THE MAN WHO INVENTED CHRISTMAS || Dan Stevens takes on the role of Charles Dickens in “The Man Who Invented Christmas,” as he tries to write “A Christmas Carol” before its deadline. Academy Award winner Christopher Plummer plays his imagining of the character Scrooge. STREAM
