VERNE TROYER
January 1, 1969 – April 21, 2018 (age 49)
Cause of Death: Alcohol Poisoning

One of the most famous and shortest people in the world, Verne Troyer made career out of playing the little guy, whether he was playing the goblin Griphook in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” (2001) or Mini-Me in two of the “Austin Powers” (1999 & 2002) films, Troyer brought reality and even great comedic timing to those roles. A friend of Mike Myers, the actor would later put Troyer in one of his following films titled “The Love Guru” (2008).  Troyer would show up in supporting capacities in “Men In Black” (1997), “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” (1998), “Bubble Boy” (2001), and “The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus” (2009). The latter part of his career was simply Troyer playing himself, like his stint on the “Trailer Park Boyz” series. His death was originally reported as a suicide, with the coroner later finding very high levels of alcohol in his system, seeming to confirm that report. Although he will be truly missed, his legacy will live on forever.
