THE HITMAN’S BODYGUARD || Lionsgate has announced a sequel to last summer action-comedy “The Hitman’s Bodyguard,” with the tentative title of “The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard.” Director Patrick Hughes and writer Tom O’Conner are returning and the returns of Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. SHERLOCK HOLMES || Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow Pictures have announced a Christmas Day 2020 release for a third film in the “Sherlock Holmes” film franchise starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. Many are wondering what this means for Downey in the Marvel films, as his commitment as Tony Stark/Iron Man in those films has always been pressing. Guy Ritchie will not be returning to direct. DEADPOOL 2 POSTER

With its release just around the corner, “Deadpool 2” released an official trailer, which continues the tradition of superhero films by putting all the characters on it. THE GOLDBERGS || Rick Moranis of “Ghostbusters” and “Honey, I Shrunk The Kids” fame will reprise his role from “Spaceballs” as a voice only cameo in an upcoming episode of ABC’s “The Goldbergs” Read more at: USA Today

TRANSPARENT || Amazon’s “Transparent” wraps up for good after its upcoming fifth season. Leading star Jeffrey Tambor was fired for sexual harassment claims, but it’s uncertain whether the series looked to end after five seasons anyway or if it is ending because of his release. THE 100 || CW’s “The 100” has been renewed for a sixth season. Read more at: Entertainment Weekly.

THE RESIDENT || Fox’s “The Resident” will be getting a second season, joining “9-1-1,” “The Gifted,” and “The Orville,” which apparently makes this particular group of first year dramas one of the biggest for the company. Read more at: Deadline.
