In the fourth film in the “Predator” series, director Shane Black takes the helm. The fight comes to Earth after young Jacob Tremblay triggers their return. The Predators have evolved, upgrading their genetics from different species and potentially looking to do the same on Earth. Black is known for his comedic style of writing and directing, with films like “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” and even Marvel’s “Iron Man 3” to some degree, but with the latter, he was definitely able to balance comedy with action and made one of my favorite MCU films to date. The teaser for “The Predator” does not do much to sell the movie besides showing all the stars and suggesting at the plot in broad terms. Hopefully as the campaign continues, there will be something to grasp on to in terms of making me anticipate the film.
Synopsis: From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
